Although Slower than the Spitfire the Hurricane was more manoeuvrable and a steadier gun platform, many pilots loved how it responded and did everything they wanted in combat but more importantly they loved its wonderful ability to absorb damage and keep in the fight.

At 96Zero we wanted to champion this fantastic machine, but as the plane itself we wanted to keep it simple and plain, effective doesn’t have to be flashy!

With its first flight in 1935 at that time it was a ground breaking game changer, it was a huge leap forward from its biplane predecessors, with its sliding canopy and enclosed cockpit it was a world away from open cockpits and freezing temperatures for the pilots.

We felt the Hurricane needed a watch that reflected the simple design but was completely recognisable as a pilot watch. Using the Hurricanes Altitude dial we reorganised the numbers to reflect a watch face and we kept the original hand design including the central second hand as we wanted it to be as original as possible.As putting an altimeter wasn’t an option it felt the perfect place to put the date!

The Altitude comes with a beautiful leather strap with quick release pins and a deployment buckle, but also a softer leather military style option as well as Seatbelt style military options and the extremely comfortable Marine Nationale style stretch option. With 5 strap options it can be the watch for pretty most any occasion!
